Position Summary:

The Channel Manager plays a pivotal role in managing distributors and channels within Uganda’s dynamic telecommunications market. This position focuses on successful product launches, ongoing channel management, and strategic alignment with company objectives. If you have a strong sales background, experience in product launches, and established contacts, this opportunity awaits you.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Channel Management:
    • Develop and nurture relationships with distributors and channel partners. Ensure their alignment with company goals and optimize channel performance.
    • Your expertise in managing these crucial relationships directly impacts business success.
  2. Product Launch Excellence:
    • Plan and execute the launch of new products across various channels. Collaborate closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure a successful market entry.
    • Your ability to orchestrate seamless product launches drives growth and customer engagement.
  3. Clear Incentive Communication:
    • Work closely with the HQ pricing team in London. Develop and effectively communicate incentive programs to distributors and channel partners.
    • Clarity in incentives ensures enthusiastic participation and successful implementation.
  4. Streamlined Processes:
    • Create and refine processes for the effective implementation of new products. Ensure all channel activities adhere to company standards.
    • Your process-oriented approach contributes to operational efficiency.
  5. Sales Strategy and Performance Monitoring:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies that drive growth through channels. Monitor sales performance, identify opportunities, and take corrective actions as needed.
    • Your strategic insights directly impact revenue generation.
  6. Market intelligence and relationship building:
    • Gather and analyze market data to inform product launches and channel strategies. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key market players, leveraging these connections for business growth.
  7. Collaboration Across Teams:
    • Work closely with internal teams—sales, marketing, and customer service—to ensure cohesive execution of channel strategies.
    • Your cross-functional collaboration ensures a unified approach to achieving business objectives.

Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in channel management, sales, or related roles, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
  • a proven track record of successful product launches and effective channel management.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes and strategic thinking.
  • Established contacts and a network within the Ugandan market.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
