Job Purpose:

As a Quality Assurance Officer, your role is critical in minimizing the risks to which the bank is exposed. You’ll independently review the adequacy and effectiveness of internal operations control policies and procedures. Additionally, you’ll ensure compliance with set operational rules, procedures, and policies for both branch and CBU operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities for Quality Assurance Officers:

  1. Batch Verification and QA Findings:
    • Verify batches and prepare QA findings.
    • Follow up for rectification and analyze reports for concerned parties.
    • Confirm that all incomes are recovered as per the tariff.
  2. Monitoring operational controls:
    • Monitor internal operational controls and standards of service delivery.
    • Ensure compliance to prevent operational income leakages.
  3. Reports and Investigations:
    • Prepare QA reports promptly, including daily findings and end-month reports.
    • Conduct preliminary investigations in cases of cash shortages or excess.
    • Maintain records of approved waivers.
  4. Reconciliations and Online Transactions:
    • Oversee branch and CBU reconciliations.
    • Review online transactions for consistent application of controls.
    • Propose checks and balances to minimize operational risks.
  5. Account Management and Static Data:
    • Ensure the correct usage of instruments and necessary approvals at the branch level.
    • Liaise with URA regarding agency notices.
    • Verify account openings and static data changes.

Key Attributes for Quality Assurance Officers:

  • History of minimal errors and audit exceptions.
  • Strong knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Operations experience and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, database, and email applications).

Requirements for Quality Assurance Officers:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business.
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience within the banking industry.
