Job Summary:

Strategy and Business Development Manager

As a strategy and business development manager, your role is crucial in achieving and maintaining daily and overall sales targets. You’ll:

  • Create awareness of FX, FI, and managed investment opportunities among Wealth Markets customers.
  • Drive profitable sales of Treasury products to each Wealth Markets customer.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for pricing Treasury products for allocated groups of retail customers.
  • Grow Wealth Markets FX, FI, and managed investment revenues.
  • Respond promptly to customer requests for transactions or advice, regardless of whether they belong to the specifically allocated group of customers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of top forex banking customers and prospective clients.
  • Contribute to business development and change management by exploring new growth areas and transforming the business model to a digitally led, human touch model.

Key Responsibilities For Strategy and Business Development Manager:

  1. Processes:
    • Liaise with operations to address customer feedback on service delivery quality.
    • Seek improvements in service delivery based on customer input.
  2. People and Talent:
    • Regularly review progress with Team Leader CMPS to ensure self-development.
    • Align with present and future objectives.
  3. Risk Management:
    • Enhance the bank’s reputation by demonstrating professionalism and building beneficial relationships with customers.
    • Ensure market risk and counterparty limits are not exceeded.
  4. Governance:
    • Understand and comply with risk and compliance requirements.
    • Adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and the Group Code of Conduct.
    • Collaborate to identify and resolve risk and compliance matters.
  5. Regulatory & Business Conduct:
    • Uphold the group’s values and code of conduct.
    • Lead the CPBB frontline and relationship management teams to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Address risk, conduct, and compliance matters effectively.

Key Stakeholders:


  • Director, Market Product Specialist, WM: Responsible for business development, personal growth, and addressing exceptional situations.
  • Trading Desks: Collaborate on pricing for products dealt with by customers.
  • FMO, CMO, T&O, and other operational units: Ensure seamless transactions from booking to settlement and beyond.
  • Head of Affluent Segment, Head of Business Banking, and Head of Personal Banking: Collaborate to achieve revenue objectives.


  • Clients: Network with customers, promote the bank, facilitate marketing of FM/CMPS solutions and capabilities, and solicit customer feedback.


  • At least 3 years of experience in banking or selling Treasury products.
  • Excellent understanding of FX, equities, bonds, and derivatives.
  • Deep knowledge of pricing Treasury and structured products.
  • Ability to determine appropriate product and pricing strategies.
  • Familiarity with operational and system user requirements for financial products.
  • Skill in representing and projecting the bank externally.
